Introduction to Biology

Grades: Rising 7th-10th

Introductory Biology is a great course that introduces and prepares students for high-school level Biology. The curriculum and lesson plans are structured around research Biology courses.  Live sessions will cover units such as taxonomy, evolution, chemistry of life, cell structure, cellular energetics, cell division, and DNA in-depth. In this class, students will also get to engage with their peers and have discussions about up-to-date scientific discoveries in this ever-changing world. This course will prepare your child for the rigors of a high school class along with sparking an interest in the world of biology.

Dates:

  • June 16th-July 17th

  • Tuesday's and Friday's

  • 3:00-4:00 PM (10 classes)

Introduction to Chemistry

Grades: Rising 8th-10th

Introduction to Chemistry is an interactive and engaging course that prepares students for high school Chemistry. This introductory course will cover basic aspects of chemistry with an emphasis on seven units: atoms and periodicity, the electron and nuclear chemistry, chemical bonding, chemical reactivity, math for chemistry and the mole, stoichiometry, and thermochemistry. Students will apply these concepts using practical examples, facilitated discussions, and experiments conducted through an online laboratory set-up. After this class, students will be prepared to “think like a chemist” in no time!
